Mental Health Support for Staff Workshop
COURSE OVERVIEW
Many staff working in health and social care can experience stress-related mental health symptoms. Anxiety and depression are common and affect around 1 in 4 of the population at any given time.
The implications of ignoring or not recognising signs and symptoms can have a huge impact on themselves, the clients and the service as a whole. It is vital that staff can recognise and acknowledge signs of stress and the long-term implications and access help to address and manage this. The course will give staff an understanding of signs of stress, physiological and psychological.
Staff will also gain an understanding of anxiety, depression and other mental health problems.
The course will also give staff a chance to discuss how to approach others about their concerns and promote an open atmosphere about mental illness, and what can happen if this is ignored Staff will also develop an understanding of how to promote good mental health and well-being and strategies to manage symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression.
