Care of Older People

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course covers national minimum standards for providing care to older people. It will provide relevant underpinning knowledge for Health & Social Care Induction Units and will assist all care staff in delivering high-quality service to older people.

• Values that underpin good social care practice
• Communication including verbal, non-verbal, methods of motivation and barriers to communication
• Confidentiality including purpose, limitations and responsibilities
• The role of the worker including legal and professional boundaries
