Chapter 8 – Signing, Lighting & Guarding

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course aims to acquaint those engaged with Roadwork’s or Temporary Restrictions which cause partial or total obstruction of the Highways whether on the carriageway, footway, cycleway, verge or hard shoulder with sufficient knowledge or signing, lighting and guarding methods in order to minimize delays and eliminate risk of accidents whilst maintaining a safe environment for the general public, road user and those engaged with the works.

• Work at rail crossings
• Work at road junctions
• Safely setting up a two-phase system and traffic density
