Dignity in Care

COURSE OVERVIEW

This course will provide candidates with an opportunity to review their care and how it might be developed so that dignity is at the heart of everything they do. Small things can have a positive impact and can greatly improve anybody’s mood.

• Understand the possible consequences of undignified care practices to patients and staff
• Recognise how to integrate dignified practices in the workplace around the clock
• Clarify your own understanding of what dignified care means to you
• Review the legislation that promotes the provision of dignified care
• Examine the tensions that lead to undignified care and explore strategies to resolve them
• Clarify your own understanding of what dignified care means to you
• Explore how to demonstrate that your organisation provides dignified care
• Enhance your empathetic understanding of the experience of those receiving care
