Signing, Lighting & Guarding
1 Day for a maximum of 6 delegates
Prior to attending the training delegates should have studied the ‘Safety at Streetworks & Roadworks’ a code of practice booklet.
COURSE CONTENT
- Health & Safety – a quick overview
- New Road and Streetwork Acts 1991 and ACOP
- Chapter 8 of the DOT traffic signs manual
- Basic principals for safe street works
- Site layout, equipment needed, sign lighting and reflectorisation
- Traffic control, footways, 2 lane single carriageway, dual carriageway
- Working near pedestrian crossings, road junctions, level crossings and roundabouts
- Short multi-choice test
ON-SITE RESOURCES
- A room for the use of audio/visual equipment and for the exam
- Activities to take place on-site or a realistic simulated site
- A full set of temporary signing and guarding for works on a road or footway
- 2 x Roadwork’s, 2 x End, 2 x Road Narrows, 2 x Keep Left/Right, 4 x Barrier Cones, 8 x Rails, 24 Cones, 1 x Stop and Go and Temporary Traffic Signals
