COURSE OVERVIEW
This course will highlight the issues relating to care services and how it will affect planning and the day-to-day working of staff within the service. This includes Person Centred Planning, Dignity in Care, Equality Act 2013 & supporting wellbeing and the rights of individuals through the Mental Capacity Act 2005. The act places a duty on local authorities to provide assessment of services for people and their carers.

- Personalisation and provision of services, person-centred thinking and planning
- Health well-being independence and rights of individuals who require services
- Timely and effective services
- Assessing the individual’s personal services as opposed to the needs of the services
- Personal budgets and how they can be accessed by people using services
- People being in control of their care and support and make choices about how their care is delivered
- Rights to dignity, safety and respect
- The recognition of carers and their own rights
